	Abstract: As I read through the story I felt if I were in the village where it took place. The characters were realistic and conversations were familiar to the villages of Nepal. The romance of Kumar and Manju and the character Surya, a political personality, are particularly well portrayed. The story reveals the inner ambitions of the students in their parents who want them to live in the villages only. Kumars life in Kathmandu reflects the hardship and struggles that a student faces in the city. Kumars final decision is praiseworthy, showing courage and a sense of the needs of the village. Joanee Stephenson has written a very sympathetic story and I hope that more people will learn to make good decisions like Kumar.-Jaju Tuladhar, Kathmandu, Nepal.
